Introducing Sgribhinn, the sheepshifter This girl was rehomed from a farm in Southland where she was housed in appalling conditions, fed once or twice a week and had no water. I expect that she is still pinching herself with her good luck! She came with the name of 'Sandy' which she didn't answer to so I decided to give her a special name. I liked gaelic names but the gaelic for 'sandy' was Mordhach which was too soft sounding for a working sheepdog. Looking at various words such as rusty, dog, etc, I decided that Sgribhinn best suited (pronounced 'Skrivven'). The name is gaelic for 'shore'. She has settled into her new home and works the Wiltshire sheep when required. We don't know her age but we estimate her to be about 7 years old. |
